The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie two Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions to the community.

SASSA will be rendering services like new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency reported it's alarmed about the high quantity of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The aim of your Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a significant amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is due to the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no thoroughly functional office devoted to service the area on a daily basis. The provider level produced for intervention ordeals a significant influx of potential beneficiaries, that makes it difficult for the Workplace to attend to all sassa people who check out a service point.

“In this read more reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise a lot more resources to permit the servicing of all clients and raise access to Social Assistance expert services,” the agency said.
